Plant Notes Wreath was a collaborative large scale ephemeral mural highlighting threatened South Australian native plants. It was created over 3 days in December 2021 at the North Terrace entrance of the Botanic Gardens.

Plant Notes Wreath  was an extension of Plant Notes, a Guildhouse Collections Project with the Botanic Gardens SA and the State Herbarium of South Australia that premiered in SALA 2021. In the resulting work, the duo celebrate flora and highlight human and plant relationships with a focus on vulnerable and threatened South Australian native plants.

The ephemeral mural drew on their research and the material that has been generated from the workshops they have undertaken as part of the project. Using clay paint the mural included plants that have been a part of their research which highlight the vulnerability of our local flora as well as including letters written by staff of the Botanic Gardens and participants from the workshops written to these plants.

A video documenting the project was created by Liene Bruns.
